Kitchen Remodel, Day 18 Photos (With Granite!)

The granite countertops were installed this afternoon, and I think the granite looks very good with both the floors and the wall color. The new sink was also installed. There is still work to be done. The next big thing is the backsplash, which I think will really clean the room up. Then there are just minor things, touchups, running through the punch list, and we’re done. So without further delay, here’s the kitchen with the new countertops.

  1. I am almost as passionate about going paperless as you are, JTR. And reading this post prompted a question: I see you send certain emails to evernote, as I do. But the annoying tags that go with every forwarded email are such a nuisance, especially since they take up the first lines (of) of the evernote page, preventing me from reading the actual first line, a handy way of identifying the email I am looking for in a search.

Is there a way to prevent the “forwarded from…” text either by batch deleting it occasionally in Evernote, or (preferably) before it leaves my email server (Outlook) on my phone, iPad, and desktop?

  2. Sandy, I believe that each email client has settings you can configure for how it handles the headers for forwarded messages. You should poke around the settings there and see if it is possible to turn off the “forwarded from:” headers. That isn’t a feature of Evernote, obviously, but of individual mail clients and services, and the ability to tweak that varies from service-to-service.
