A Reporter’s Life

Posted on | July 21, 2009 | No Comments

I’ve taken a temporary break from The Lord of the Rings in order to read Walter Cronkite’s autobiography, A Reporter’s Life, which I am tearing through breathlessly.  Last week, I watched endless interviews with Cronkite (they were being replayed on various stations) and I realized how little I knew about him.  I was very impressed with what I had learned and I felt a sudden dire need to read his memoir.  It’s not available on the Kindle (yet) and wasn’t at the library, so I asked Dad (who is visiting) to pick up a copy for me when he went to the bookstore yesterday.

So far, it is a terrific book!  (And useful beyond just enjoyable reading.  It is, to some extent, research for a new writing project.)
