From the Earth to the Moon

I really slept in late today, not getting out of bed until close to 9:30 AM–two hours after Kelly got up this morning.  I started reading Robert J. Sawyer’s Frameshift this morning, and spent much of the day reading–and enjoying it very much.  Rob has a knack for telling a good story and I’ve been trying to [...]

Holiday weekend, part 2

I woke up sore this morning from all of the Wii playing yesterday.  I slept in a bit, and when I woke up, I jumped right back into Only Begotten Daughter, making some more headway, and enjoying the story very much.  Kelly and I decided to head into Georgetown today.  The weather was nice and we thought we’d [...]

Holiday weekend, part 1

I finished reading joe_haldeman ’s Marsbound this morning.  I very much enjoyed it, although I didn’t think it was as good as his last few books, especially The Accidental Time Machine.  But it’s looking to be the first of a series and the series looks promising.  If nothing else, it was good ol’ science fiction, which was what [...]

Thanksgiving dinner

Great Thanksgiving dinner at Sarah’s this evening.  Early in the afternoon, I set about making my stuffed mushrooms.  I made two kinds, a spicy, seasoned kind and a more bland kind.  The spicy, seasoned ones came out really good.  I surprised myself.  We headed over to Sarah’s just before 3 PM. All told, there were nine [...]

Happy Thanksgiving!

I mentioned the odd sleeping patterns we’ve fallen into.  I went back to bed at about 1 AM and tossed and turned and slept fitfully until about 2:45.  Then I fell asleep and slept pretty well until 7 AM.  Kelly got up and I started reading the latest issue of NEW SCIENTIST in bed until just before 8 AM, when [...]

More odd sleep patterns

Most people were not at work today.  But Kelly and I headed in as usual.  It was a quiet morning for the most part, but a busy afternoon.  I had lunch with Monica at CPK (Todd was supposed to be there, too, but never showed up.)  I then prepared for a 2 PM meeting that was more contentious than [...]

Late night snacks

Last night was a little odd:  early in the evening, Kelly and I were reading.  Kelly was on the couch and I was sitting by the fireplace.  We both dozed off for a while and woke up around 7:45 PM, and decided to go to bed.  Later, I had a headache and got up to take some [...]

Good Monday

Up just before 6 AM with a killer stomach ache, the first one in a really long time.  Eventually it went away.  I was good today about meals.  5 small meals beginning around 7 AM and spread about every three hours throughout the day.  For dinner I made chicken and had what was left of my apple, ale [...]

Workout!

Just finished up at the gym and I'm waiting for Kelly so we can head home. I did 30 minutes of cardio, didn't push too hard, and burned 407 calories. Some knee pain about 22 minutes in but nothing too bad. 4 small meals so far today and I'm making chicken for dinner for meal [...]
