Cold morning

I don’t know exactly how cold it was this morning, but it must have been pretty darn cold. Knowing that the trains would not be busy today because of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, I slept in this morning and took a later train, getting into the office around 8 AM (instead of 5:30 AM). I tried to time it so that I only had to wait a few minutes, but the schedule was off slightly and I had to wait around 8 minutes.

I forgot my hat.

My ears were freezing. I mean, really badly.

It was a relief to get on the train, believe me. I can’t imagine what it must have been like at the Giants game last night (although I’m very happy the Giants won). Brrrrrr!

Turns out that I once again woke up in the middle of the night last night and spent about 30 minutes reading before going back to sleep. I’m not through 576 pages of Our Oriental Heritage and chances are very good that I will finish the book before the end of the month.

I have to stop at Union Station on the way home this evening to pick up the train tickets to New York for this coming weekend. Kelly has the day off today and is rumored to be hitting the outlet malls in Leesburg and places like that.

Even my office is cold this morning. Building maintenance people were around but there doesn’t seem to be anything they can do. I’ll live.
