Christmas Eve Day

Christmas Eve Day began with breakfast and then a workout at the gym. (I did a full chest and back workout, while Kelly did cardio.) After that, we decided to head to the local mall to do some last minute browsing around before Christmas. This was another outdoor mall, and although it was early afternoon of Christmas Eve day, it wasn’t too crowded. The weather was perfect! We wandered about, popping in and out of various stores (Banana Republic twice!) We went into Barnes & Noble, and got some ice cream before heading back to her parent’s house.

In the early evening, we went with Kelly’s parents to their church for an early Christmas Eve service. Although the service was very Christmas-oriented, it was hard to keep in mind that Christmas was the next day because the whole place was air conditioned and the air outside was warm.

After a quick stop at the grocery store, we headed back to Kelly’s parents and then Kelly and I took the bikes and headed to the pool for a quick swim. I think we were at the pool for an hour or so, until after the sun set, but the air was warm and if it wasn’t for dinner, we probably could have stayed longer.

We had an excellent beef stew for dinner (Kelly had veggies) and then spent the rest of the evening watching It’s a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Story. We also watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Horton Hears a Who, which is not really a Christmas movie, but was on the DVD.
