Day of rest

I took the day off work today as a well-needed day of rest. My flight didn’t get in until late last night. It was a pleasant flight, however. I sat next to a man who used to be a CEO of a coal mining company and we talked the entire flight. I rarely talk to people on airplanes but this man was really very nice. When I finally got home, it was late and I got to bed as quickly as I could but when my alarm went off at 4:25 AM, there was just no way I was going to get up.

I slept for about 5-1/2 more hours, which I really needed and I have finally, just a short time ago, gotten out of bed. Of course, this means I didn’t go to the gym this morning, but I will be going later on today. In the meantime, I’m going to get some breakfast, and then relax today. I’m probably going to spend the day reading, and avoid checking my email at work. It will be the first day in a quite some time that I will just read all day.

Zeke was glad to see me when I got home and I was glad to see him. I found that I had the latest issue of SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN in the mail when I got home as well. There is laundry to be done, grocery shopping, and my desk could stand to be cleaned off as well. But one thing at a time.

It was 66 degrees when I arrived at Dulles last night. I drove home with the car window open. It is about 25 degrees cooler this morning.
