Writing and wrapup

I didn’t get home from work until almost 7 PM because of a late meeting I had to attend this evening. Therefore, I skipped dinner tonight, and headed straight into the office to do some work on “If By Reason of Strength…” I wrote about 500 words and I think it’s pretty good. Too early to say for sure, but the story is coming along.

Incidentally, I’ve always been somewhat lazy about writing. Take ten years ago today, for instance (when I was a mere 24 years old). According to my diary from December 11, 1996: “When I got home from work tonight, I spent almost the entire night on the computer. I’ve got to stop doing that–unless it’s to write, of course.” Yeah, well, it wasn’t writing I was doing. At least I got some writing in tonight. (I also noted in my diary that I got a “beta” of Office 97 and you can bet I will spending the time on the computer getting that installed and fiddling around with it.)

My workout tomorrow is in the afternoon, which means I can sleep in until 5:30 AM. I still want to be in bed by 9:30 tonight and I have a number of things do before than, so I’m heading off to get those things done. Besides, I’m already tired. Getting up at 4:30 in the morning makes for a long day, no matter what.
