Back in the mid-late 1990s, I was subscribed to Anu Garg’s A.Word.A.Day mailing list, and I loved it. But as the volume of my email grew, I had to cut back and I ended my subscription five years ago or so.
I’m happey to say that I’m subscribed once again as of today. I notice that he now has both a “free” (with ads) and a “premium” (no ads) service. I signed up with the free service for now, but I’ll probably get the premium service eventually.
AWAD is, as far as I know, the original wordserver on the Internet. There are lots of immitations now. But AWAD is the best. I loved when they would have “theme” weeks. Things like: words derived from the names of characters in fiction stories.
