Lunch time!

For the first time in a while, I can shut my door at lunch, lean back in my chair, put my feet up and read for the entire hour! More than likely I will end up dozing off as well, but it will be nice just to have an hour to relax.

How did I ever get this busy?

After a couple of weeks of phone tag, I finally talked to Michelle last night and it was good to hear from her. We were on the phone for almost an hour catching up, which explains, in part, why I didn’t get to bed until after 10 PM. I didn’t have to get up until [...]

My autobiography in song, part 1: the early 1970s

I’ve mentioned my autobiography playlist numerous times, and I said yesterday that I’d have more to say about the playlist soon. This post represents the first of a series in which I will give a brief overview of the first 35 years of my life as told through the songs that remind me of events [...]

Why House is the most educational show on TV

If you didn’t catch last night’s episode of House, “Top Secret”, you should. It proves why House is the most educational show on TV. In an era when shows like Medium and Supernatural and Psychic Detectives are big hits, what a relief to have a show that sticks to pure rationality and reason for solutions [...]

Caution: web browsing ahead!

During a quick lunch break this afternoon, I browsed the web, as usual, checking the headlines, markets, baseball news, science fiction news, etc. I ran into three things while browsing that were unusual enough to get me thinking, so I figured I’d write about them here and see what you all think. Do web ads [...]

Workout #80 (Cardio)

I’m giving the lunch workouts a try this week and I continued with that today. I finally managed to get back to a full cardio workout (40 minutes) rather than a partial workout. I didn’t have time to do any lower body afterward because I have a meeting at 1 PM (in 5 minutes). But [...]

More birthday wishes!

I did my best to keep to my routine yesterday and that meant that I was in bed at about 8:30 PM. I keep my phone on “vibrate” and leave it in the kitchen, besides, so I never know when someone calls me at night until the next morning. This morning, I had a record [...]

Almost caught up on my weekend posts

I’ve almost caught up on my posts from Norm and Vicky’s wedding this weekend. I just finished a rather funny one about the four of us getting dressed for the wedding. All that’s left is the wedding ceremony itself, and the reception and I expect to get to these by tomorrow. Remember, you can read [...]

I have the coolest friends

More birthday wishes today. I got a call from Tawnya this morning. At work they put up happy birthday signs all around my office (although I’m not exactly sure how they found out it was my birthday). One of my meetings started today with one of my co-workers in Dallas wishing me a happy birthday. [...]

Spring walks and spring showers

I took the first of my spring walks this evening. It was great. I got good weather on my birthday. It was just about as warm as it was in Orlando, Florida this past weekend. The temperature when I headed out the door was a balmy 81 degrees. Sometimes, I read when I walk. I [...]

Workout #79 (Chest & back)

I gave myself an extra hour of sleep today and did my workout at lunch again. The weight room was busier than yesterday at lunch time, but still not as busy as it is early in the mornings. Still, I got in a pretty good workout.

Numerology

I’ve got numbers on the brain today, for obvious reasons and so I was amused when I ran down to grab breakfast this morning from McDonald’s (yes, I know, but I was in a hurry and I didn’t eat anything at home this morning) and my receipt indicated order #666. It reminds me of one [...]
