In New York City
Requirements meetings are complete and I was able to get to Pittburgh airport earlier than I thought. In fact, instead of having to wait until the 8:30 PM flight on which I was originally scheduled, I was able to get on the 3:55 PM flight into La Guardia, and I made it to jen_ashlock and [...]
In Pittsburgh
I arrived in Pittsburgh at 7 AM after being up at 4 AM to catch a 6 AM flight. I’ve been in meetings all day and am on a quick break right now. Then an hour to go and I’m done for the day!
Busy season
It has gotten busy here at work. I have finished up one project, and am in the middle of managing a second. Tomorrow, I head to Pittsburgh for two days of requirements meetings on a third project that I will be managing. And in the meantime, there is a fourth project on which I am [...]
Superman Returns!
It was awesome!
Got my ticket!
I purchased my ticket for the 10:15 PM showing of Superman Returns tonight in Silver Spring. Several theaters in major U.S. cities are having Tuesday night showings, prior to the big opening of the film tomorrow. It’s a 2:34 long movie which means I won’t be home until close to 1 AM, but I don’t [...]
Cool quote
I heard a cool quote this weekend. I believe it is Greek in origin, but don’t know it’s attribution beyond that. It has to do with time, and it goes something like this: Seconds are arrows, the last one of which is fatal. I’ve done some quick cursory searches online and haven’t found the source, [...]
STS 121
So the next shuttle launch, STS 121 is still go for this coming Saturday, July 1. Launch time is scheduled for 3:49 PM EDT. Anyone interested in watching the launch can do so from NASA TV, and I’m sure the major networks will be covering it too. It’s the second shuttle launch in about a [...]
Rainy day and night
It has rained just about all day here with lots of thunder and lightening. At this moment, it is still raining hard. In fact, the rain was hard enough earlier to block my satellite feed so that I missed the 9 PM and 10 PM showings of Deadwood and Entourage. So now I’m getting ready [...]
Rain out?
It has been raining heavily here most of the morning so far and it is possible that for the first time since I’ve held Orioles season tickets (three years now), my Sunday game may be rained out. The game (against the Nationals) is scheduled to start at 1:35 PM which is still about 4 hours [...]
Double feature
I hadn’t gone to the movies since something like February, when I decided to head over to the theaters in Silver Spring and spend the afternoon and evening seeing a couple of pictures. I saw Mission Impossible: III and The Da Vinci Code. Neither of them were anything to write home about. MI-III was fun [...]
The story of civilization
I haven’t been doing much reading lately. I’ve started a couple of books but couldn’t get into them. For some reason, this is pretty typical for the beginning of the summer for me. Anyway, I decided yesterday that I would once again attempt Will Durant’s Story of Civilization series of history books. I have a [...]
More Superman
The Apple Music store has a 2-minute clip from Superman Returns that is very cool. I’ve watched it three or four times and want to see the whole movie even more. Not since Star Wars: Episode I, have I been thisexcited about an upcoming movie.
